Robert (Rocky) Anderson played U17 & U19 at Norwood, played in an U19's premiership in 1963 and captained the team in 1964. He progressed to senior football in 1965, playing 34 league games mainly as a half-forward flanker over a period of 4 years. He was a member of the 1966 Reserves Premiership team. Unfortunately he badly injured his knee in 1968 which finished his promising league career at the young age of 22. He then became coach of the Hope Valley Football Club from 1970 - 1974 and the club won the 1971 Premiership after being undefeated that year.
