Troy Clements moved from Kimba to Roxby Downs at the age of 12 and played under-age football at Central Augusta. He later attended Immanuel College, and played for the Woodville-West Torrens Football Club.
 
Clements transferred to the Parade for the 1995 season, not having played a league game for the Eagles He made his senior debut for the Redlegs in Round 6 of that year. While he played some Reserves football between 1995 and 1997, Clements settled relatively quickly into the league side.
 
Named on a half-back flank in the 1997 Grand Final, he was listed among Norwood's best players in its 73 point drubbing of Port Adelaide.
 
In 1998 he was named Norwood's Best Team Man. He was again on the half-backline when Norwood narrowly went down to Port in the 1999 premiership decider.

The tenacious defender, popular with team-mates and supporters alike, played his 100th senior game in 2000.
 
After an excellent season in 2001, playing as a wingman/mid-fielder, Clements won the club's Best and Fairest award and was again named Best Team Man.
 
Very consistent and reliable, he was appointed vice-captain in 2002. His good form continued and Clements was rewarded with the Best Team Man award for seasons 2002 and 2003.
 
Troy Clements played his 209th, and final game, in the last minor round of the 2005 season.
 
He later joined the CMS Crows (Curramulka Minlaton Stansbury) in the Yorke Peninsula Football League, winning the Mail Medal in 2006
