Stephen Daniels came to Norwood from Prince Alfred College where he had played as a centre-half forward/mid-fielder and made his league debut in round 20, 1994 against Central Districts at Football Park. The Redlegs won the match 11.17 to 4.7.
 
Under coach Neil Craig, he played seven senior games in his first year, and 13 the following season. Daniels quickly developed into a dour, reliable tall defender.
 
He had a solid 1996, playing 22 games for Norwood, and winning the best in finals award.
 
Drafted by Port Adelaide in 1996, he spent four years with the AFL club, playing 58 games. He still made the occasional SANFL appearance when not selected by Port, and reached his 50 game SANFL milestone during 2000.
 
Delisted by Port, he returned full time to the Parade and played 14 games in 2001.
 
Daniels had an excellent 2002, playing 22 games and receiving the meritorious performance and Jim Tummel outstanding qualities awards.
 
He played his 100th game for Norwood in 2003 against Glenelg, at Glenelg.  
 
Daniels played 20 games in 2004 and was made a Life Member of the club for his 10 Years Service.
