Nathan Eagleton played his junior football with Happy Valley in the Southern Football League before making his league debut with West Adelaide in 1996.

In 1997 he was recruited by Port Adelaide for their first season in the Australian Football League. After 56 games he was traded to the Western Bulldogs for the start of the 2000 season.

A regular player for the Bulldogs, Eagleton played another 221 games over the next 11 seasons.

He retired from the AFL at the end of the 2010 season, choosing to join Norwood rather than return to West Adelaide.

He signed a two-year contract and had a solid 2011 season, playing 23 matches. The classy, long kicking wingman/half-forward/midfielder, provided the Redlegs with added pace and goal-scoring ability.

In 2012 Eagleton injured his hip in Norwood's final trial match. After discussions with coach Nathan Bassett, Eagleton announced his retirement from league football.

He returned to the Happy Valley Football Club however and had the satisfaction of winning the 2012 premiership, playing alongside his three brothers.

Nathan Eagleton also represented Australia in the International Rules Series in 1999 and 2005.
