Anthony Eames was recruited by Norwood from Werribee, where he had won the J.J Liston Medal in 1991 for the best and fairest in the Victorian Football Association. Eames had also represented the VFA at interstate level in 1992.

Playing mainly as a wingman, Anthony Eames was most impressive in his only season at the Parade. He made his senior debut for the Redlegs against Woodville-West Torrens in the 1993 Foundation Cup series.

Skilful, and with blistering speed, he was an important and consistent performer for the Norwood Football Club.

He was named on a wing in the Norwood 1993 Grand Final side that lost to Woodville-West Torrens. (He had previously played in a losing grand final for Werribee, in 1991).

After returning to Victoria and having  played for Werribee and Williamstown (VFA), Eames tried his hand at coaching, with great success. He guided Williamstown's Reserves to three flags, and Altona Vikings to the 2012 premiership in the Western Region Football League.

In 2016 he was appointed coach of the Western Region Football League inter-league team.
