BIO

Born on 23 June 1987, Nick Lower was  educated at St Ignatius College and then at Prince Alfred College. He played junior football with the Walkerville Football Club and in 2002 played one match for the Norwood under 17s.

Lower continued to progress through the grades, and in 2005 made his league debut for the Redlegs and represented the state in the under 18 championships.

Selected by Port Adelaide Power in the 2005 national draft, Lower was still able to play for Norwood when not selected by Port to play in the AFL.

In 2006 he played 10 league games for the Redlegs, and another 18 in 2007 when he was third in the club's best and fairest award.

He reached the 50 game milestone for Norwood in 2009.

Lower had his best year in 2010 when he won the Norwood's best and fairest award as well as the coveted Woods Medal. The quick and tenacious defender/midfielder had a very consistent season and was runner-up in the Magarey Medal count.   Unfortunately, the Redlegs were narrowly defeated by Central District in the 2010 premiership decider.

Lower played for three AFL clubs :  Port Adelaide (20 games), Fremantle (22) and Western Bulldogs (13).

While on Fremantle's list, he also played 10 games for the Perth Football Club (WAFL).

Twin brother Edward played one league game for Norwood.
