Brian Norsworthy made his League debut in 1964, after graduating from Norwood High School and progressing through the Norwood junior grades.

In 1959 he won the Best and Fairest in the Colts, and in 1960 the Services Rendered award in the Thirds' premiership year. The following two seasons he was named Best Backman and Most Effective player in the same grade.

Having already captained the Thirds, he was then named vice-captain of the Reserves between 1964 and 1966, winning the Most Consistent award in 1964.

In 1966, playing as a half-back flanker, he was a member of the Reserves Premiership team that defeated Port Adelaide on the Adelaide Oval by 75 points.

A fearless and determined competitor, Norsworthy was an excellent mark who was not afraid to back his judgement.

Despite not being able to hold down a permanent spot in the senior side, he proved to be a wonderful clubman, giving excellent service whenever he represented the Norwood Football Club.
