Despite being chased by South Adelaide a few seasons earlier, Greg Parke transferred to Norwood from the Victorian Football League in 1976.

Playing mainly as a centre half-forward, he had a reputation for being a sensational high mark, but a somewhat unreliable kick for goal.

Originally from Bentleigh in Victoria, he had already played for Melbourne (119 games) and Footscray (37 games) before he joined Norwood.

Under 1975 Premiership coach Bob Hammond, Parke once again joined forces with former ex-Melbourne team-mates, Ross Dillon and Stephen Kerley.

While he only played the one season for Norwood, he was still able to show why he was regarded as one of the strongest marks in the game.

One of his best games for the club was in a Wills Cup night match versus Carlton in 1976. He was rated best on ground, kicking five goals from centre half-forward, in Norwood's 106 points victory.

Moving back to Victoria in 1977, he finished his career at Fitzroy (15 games)
