After appearing in only two Escort Cup (pre-season) matches in 1987, he moved to Turvey Park in the Riverina Football League where he had further premiership success.

He was back with Norwood in 1990 and played a few games in the Reserves.

Vardanega represented the Riverina Football League and was captain-coach of Turvey Park,in the early 1990's.
