Educated at Sacred Heart College, Jamie Vlatko had already played 24 League games for Glenelg (2003-2004) before he transferred to The Parade.

A strong marking, agile key forward, he made his senior debut for the Redlegs in the opening round of 2005. Also an accurate kick, Vlatko soon became an important forward target in the Norwood league side.

Vlatko played 17 games in his first season, and 17 again the following year when he was also the club's leading goal-kicker.

He kicked 60 goals from his 20 games in 2007 to again win the goal-kicking award. However, he found himself playing as a defender for part of the 2008 season and only managed 26 majors in his 17 appearances.

In 2009 Vlatko reached his 100 SANFL game milestone.

He then joined his brother Jon at the East Coast Eagles (AFL Sydney) where he went on to play over 100 games, winning two best and fairest awards and was a key member in three premierships.

In 2017 he took over as coach of the East Coast Eagles
