Andrew Zealand transferred to Norwood from the Sturt Football Club in 1990, having played six senior games for the Double-Blues during 1987-88.

Tall and athletic, Zealand was capable of playing as a ruckman, or in a key position, forward or back.

Zealand made his debut for Norwood in the second round of the 1990 Foundation Cup (pre-season) series.

He had a solid 1991 season, making 25 senior appearances for the Redlegs but unfortunately he sustained a knee injury in the last minor round game. In what was an odd incident, his finger was caught in an opponent's jumper in the action of tackling. His legs were stationary at the time and the twisting of the upper body whilst completing the tackle, resulted in the serious knee injury.

In 1993 Zealand played in a premiership for Padthaway, in the Kowrie-Naracoorte Football League. Another ex-Redleg, Lester Ross Jr (161 NFC games, 1983-92), was the club's playing-coach at the time.
