Graham Blythman made his league debut against Port Adelaide in round five, 1969. The following week he suffered bruised ribs against North Adelaide (Norwood Oval) and had to be replaced in the second term.
From the country,for a period of time he stayed at Carmel Court - a home for Norwood recruits.
Blythman came onto the ground, in the third term against Glenelg (Glenelg Oval), in the last game of the 1969 minor round. That was his final appearance in the league team.
The half-back flanker showed promise as a defender in the Norwood reserves.
