BIO
Ziggie Alwan was born in South Africa and joined Norwood in 2008 having been recruited from Noble Park in the Eastern Football League (EFL) in Victoria. He only played the one year for the Redlegs, going back home to Victoria before the start of the 2009 season.
While he played a handful of League games in 2008, he spent most of the season in the Reserves and was Runner-up for the Reserves Magarey Medal. Alwan played 15 games for the Reserves, mainly as a defender and on-baller, with tackling and overhead marking his main attributes.
Back playing in the EFL, he tasted premiership success for Noble Park, as well as playing representative football for the EFL.
In 2013 he transferred to Frankston in the Victorian Football League. Playing mainly as a forward, he showed good form and was considered a chance for the 2013 National Draft.
