BIO
Michael Barker attended Rostrevor College and in 1989 he played eight games for the Norwood under 17s in their premiership year. The following season, Barker played nine games for the under 19s in another premiership year.
He had a solid season in 1991, playing a further nine games with the under 19s, and breaking into the reserves with 13 appearances and 10 goals.
After again playing seven reserves games in 1992, Barker made his league debut in round three of the 1993 Foundation Cup pre-season competition.
The Redlegs were narrowly defeated by arch-rivals Port Adelaide. This was to be his only senior game however, although he did play another six games for the Redlegs reserves.
On leaving The Parade, Barker played league football for Sturt (26 games, 1995-97) and the Woodville-West Torrens Eagles (5 games, 1999).
He later turned his hand to coaching and has been an assistant at South Australian National Football League club and state team levels.
