Norwood recruited Darryl Barratt from the North Broken Hill Football Club in the Broken Hill Football League.

Best known as a rover, he made his league debut for Norwood in Round 10, 1959. Norwood narrowly won the match against Glenelg : 12.12 to 8.22.

He played seven senior games in his first year with the Redlegs which included a win against Sturt in the last minor round game of the season. 

Barratt was named to play for Norwood in the opening round of the 1960 Advertiser Cup competition.

He later returned to the Broken Hill Football League.
