BIO
David Baverstock was recruited from Tanunda before zoning was introduced and played a handful of Under 19 games for Norwood between 1973 and 1974.
In 1975, he played his first Reserve game while attending Roseworthy College. Named in a back pocket, Baverstock was one of Norwood's best players in the Reserves 1975 grand final win against Sturt. His consistent performances during the season saw him take out the Reserves best and fairest award.
Capping off an excellent year in 1975, Baverstock then made his senior debut against the Tasmanian premiers Glenorchy, in the end of season Championship of Australia series played at Football Park.
He was again named in the back pocket for the 1976 Reserves Grand Final - Norwood defeating North Adelaide by 58 points.
In August 1978, Baverstock accepted an appointment in Europe and as he was not going to be available for that season's final series, he was cleared back to Tanunda.
