Michael Boase was born on the 14th September 1952 and was recruited by Norwood from Wallaroo. A strongly built ruckman, he progressed through the Colts and Thirds, making his League debut against Glenelg on the Norwood Oval in Round 6 1971. Norwood won a high-scoring match, 18.17 to 15.18

A few weeks later he played his second, and last league game against South Adelaide. Norwood again ran at winners, 13.10 to 7.14

In 1972 Boase played for the Norwood reserve's premiership team.

Michael Boase died in Adelaide on the 20th October 2022, aged 70 years.
