BIO

Robert Burgess was recruited by Norwood in 1980, in Neil Balme's first year as coach at The Parade.

Burgess had previously played for Adelaide Teachers College in the SA Amateur Football League, representing the State in 1976, 1978, 1979 and again in 1982.

In 1977, Burgess had also played four league games for West Torrens.

Named as a half forward flanker, he made his senior debut for the Redlegs in round two, 1980 and played four league games in his first season for Norwood, as well as 16 in the reserves.

Burgess spent most of 1981 in the reserves (21 games).
