BIO
David Byrnes joined Norwood in 1993 from the Irymple Football Club in country Victoria.
Although slightly built, he was clever and dangerous near goals and was possibly best suited to a wing or on the ball.
Byrnes made his league debut in round six, 1993 and played 14 senior games in his first year at The Parade. He made another 14 senior appearances in his second season.
In 1995 he played four league games, but spent most of the year in the reserves (13 games) and was runner-Up in the reserves best and fairest award. Norwood won the 1995 Reserves premiership with a decisive 78 point Grand Final victory over South Adelaide, at Football Park.
In 1996 he played three league games but spent most of the year in the reserves where he played 12 games.
In 1999 he joined West Adelaide and played 12 games in his first season.
