Albert Park 1874, West Melbourne 1875, Carlton 1876-77
At Albert Park, Billy Bracken was a magnificent mark and kick, dangerous near goal. In 1875 he played with West Melbourne before switching to Carlton a year later where he proved a neat and active forward in kicking 12 goals for the season. The 1877 season gave promise of him becoming a brilliant forward, judging and marking beautifully, and improving his kicking. With Norwood he sometimes played as a goalsneak, was a sure and splendid mark, and exercised great judgment. In 1878 he appeared in 12 games in which he kicked 3 goals.
