Vincent Cobiac joined Norwood from Rostrevor College.
 
In 1968 he had a sudden rise to league status. 

After being named best on ground for the Norwood under 19s (Thirds) in its round 3 clash against South Adelaide, Cobiac made his league debut in Round 5 against Sturt when he was selected on a half-forward flank. Played at Unley, it was the first time Sturt coach Jack Oatey and son Robert Oatey had coached against each other. Final Scores : Norwood 7.13 - Sturt 9.13.
 
Cobiac kept his spot in the senior side for the next two matches.
