Norwood recruited Mitchell Cotter from Frankston FC in the Victorian Football League in November 2020.

The tough, hard working on-baller had played for the Dandenong Stingrays in the 2017 TAC Cup before transferring to Frankston in 2018.

Cotter made his league debut with Norwood in round 19, 2021 and while that proved to be his only senior game for the year, he won Norwood's Reserves best and fairest (14 games).

Despite injury curtailing his progress in 2022, Cotter played eight league games in his second year at The Parade and was named in a 25 man squad for the Grand Final against North Adelaide.

His final league appearance was against the Adelaide Crows in the 2022 Qualifying Final.

Cotter decided to travel overseas in 2023.
