W Degenhardt played two games for Norwood in 1898.

He was named in a forward pocket in his debut game against South Adelaide on the 1st September 1898 at the Adelaide Oval.

A severely depleted Norwood team, with eight of its best players missing due to injury or other commitments, was eventually comfortably beaten by South Adelaide (6.6 to 10.16).

Degenhardt was selected for the following match, two days later. It was Norwood's last game of the season.

Again weakened by player unavailability, Norwood were beaten by Port Adelaide : 2.6 to 4.16.

It appears Degenhardt may have also played for Kensington, in the East Torrens Football Association in 1898.
