Prior to the start of the 1910 season, Fisher applied for a clearance to Norwood. He had previously played in the North Adelaide Association (seconds) team as a defender. His application was successful and he was included in Norwood's pre-season trials.
He was tried in the back pocket and on a half back flank and was chosen in the seconds for the first two rounds.
Having made a good impression, in round three he was promoted to the league side to play in the back pocket against his old side North Adelaide.
His initial form was good. In a game against Sturt it was reported that, “Fisher in goal saved capitally.”
He retained his position for six games. Unfortunately two consecutive, heavy defeats resulted in him losing his spot in the league side and he played out the remainder of the season in the seconds
