Originally from Grovedale in Victoria, Daniel Fletcher played Under 18's for the Geelong Falcons. The Geelong Football Club then selected him in the 1993 pre-season draft, and he made his AFL debut in 1994. That was to be his only AFL appearance however and Fletcher then transferred to Norwood for the start of the 1995 season.
 
After playing in the first two League rounds of the season, the midfielder/flanker spent some time in the Reserves.
 
Hampered by ongoing ankle injuries, Fletcher eventually returned home to Grovedale, during the season.
