BIO
Educated at Pembroke School, Alex Forster played in the Norwood Under 16 premiership in 2009, and captained the State Under 16 team.
He progressed through to the Reserves in 2010 (five games) and 2011 (five games), making his league debut against North Adelaide in round 20, 2011. Forster made six appearances in his first year of league football. He impressed in that year's State Under 18's national carnival and was named in the All-Australian team.
Forster was selected at pick 29 by the Fremantle Football Club in the 2011 AFL national draft. Unfortunately, he was side-lined for a major part of 2012 following pre-season hip surgery and only managed to play a few games for the Swan Districts reserves (West Australian Football League) late in the season.
In 2013 he played 16 games for Peel Thunder (WAFL) and made his AFL debut in Fremantle's final minor round game of the season.
Forster returned to the Parade after being delisted by Fremantle at the end of 2013.
Highly skilled by hand and foot, and capable of playing forward or back, Forster was an important member of Norwood's 2014 premiership, playing 21 games for the season.
Forster played another 16 games in 2015, but managed just four in 2016, spending most of the year in the Reserves. After reaching his 50 game milestone the following season, he transferred to Payneham/Norwood Union (South Australian Adelaide Footy League) early in 2018
Alex's brother Tom commenced his league career at Norwood in 2014
