BIO
Robert French was a close checking defender, playing mainly out of a back pocket or half back flank. The former Prince Alfred College student made his League debut against Woodville in Round 1, 1969.
An excellent overhead mark, he played over 100 Reserve games between 1968 and 1974.
French was a member of the 1970,1972 and 1974 Reserve premiership teams. He played in the back pocket in the first grand Final win, and was named on the bench in the next two premiership deciders.
Robert's brother David also played League football for Norwood in 1964 and 1965
