BIO
John "Jack Gags" Gallagher was educated at Sacred Heart College, and began playing for Norwood's under-aged teams in 1979.
Gallagher represented the club at Under 17 and Under 19 level in his first season. In 1980 he was a member of the Norwood Under 19 premiership team.
After starting 1981 in the Reserves, he made his league debut against Central Districts in round 12 of that season.
Hamstring injuries and a broken jaw frustrated his 1982 season, but the nuggety rover returned to the senior side mid-1983.
He later transferred to North Adelaide, and made two league appearances in 1985.
John's father Kevin "Sam" (1945-55,131 games) older brother Phil (1973-86, 292 games), and younger brother Martin (1989, 6 games), also played for the Norwood Football Club.
