BIO
Benjamin Gazzola played basketball as a junior, and had only been playing football for a couple of seasons when he was recruited by Norwood in 2011.
In 2009/2010 Gazzola played for the Prince Alfred Old Collegians Football Club in divisions three and four of the South Australian Amateur Football League. One of his team-mates was former Adelaide Crows captain Mark Ricciuto, who recommended him to Norwood senior coach Nathan Bassett.
Quick, with good hands, great aerobic ability and an impressive leap, Gazzola was seen as a promising ruckman/key position player.
In his only season at The Parade he played 16 matches for the Reserves and made his league debut in the last minor round series of 2011.
Gazzola impressed AFL recruiters in the SA draft camp held at season's end, but did not make any of the AFL team lists.
He eventually returned to Prince Alfred Old Collegians Football Club in the Amateur League.
