BIO

Warren Halfpenny came through Norwood's junior programme, playing for the strong under 17 and under 19 teams. In 1987 he won the Norwood under 17 best and fairest award after playing 20 games.

The following year he progressed to the under 19s (13 games) and the reserves (9 games). The under 19s went top in 1988.

Halfpenny had a strong season for the reserves in 1989 (25 games), finishing runner-up in the best and fairest.

Predominantly a half back-flanker, he broke into the senior side in the first round of the 1990 pre-season Foundation Cup series. He went on to make nine league appearances in his debut season and 13 in the reserves.

In 1991 he played another 16 senior games for the Redlegs, but he spent all of 1992 in the reserves.

1993 was his last season at The Parade when he played two games for the reserves, bringing his career total to 73, and one Foundation Cup match.

His daughter Jade plays in the SANFL Women's competition, having made her Norwood debut in 2020.
