Luke Handke progressed through Norwood's junior teams to play league football in 1998.
In 1994 he represented the Redlegs in the Under 17's, Under 19's and Reserves.
The following season Handke played 15 games for the Under 19's in a premiership year and was a member of the South Australian team that took out the 1995 Teal Cup.
He spent 1996 in the Under 19's (13 games) and in 1997 was part of a Under 19 premiership; he also appeared 12 times for the Reserves.
Handke made his league debut in round 9, 1998 and played four games in his only season of senior football.Norwood defeated Port Adelaide at The Parade by one point in his last league game.
He was named in a back pocket in the 1998 Reserves Grand Final victory against Port Adelaide.
Handke played another 17 games for the Reserves in 1999.
In 2001-2002 he was with Kenwick (Western Australia) in the Sunday Football League, and in 2003 played in a flag for the Rostrevor Old Collegians in Division 2 of the South Australian Amateur Football League
