Bevan Harris came from Dublin in the Adelaide Plains Football League and was educated at Norwood Technical High School.
Bevan impressed coming through Norwood's juniors, winning awards for best backman in 1958, most consistent in 1959, and most determined play in 1960. He captained the 1960 Senior Colts premiership team and played in the 1961 Reserves premiership team.
A courageous and determined defender, Harris won the Reserves best team man award in 1962.
He made his League debut in 1963, and was named vice-captain of the Reserves in the same year.
The following season saw him appointed captain of the Reserves, and in 1965 he won another best team man award for the Reserves.
Due to bad hamstring injuries, Bevan was unable to cement his spot in the League team
In 1967 Harris played two league games for Central District.
A handy cricketer, he also played A Grade for East Torrens in the early 1960's
Bevan Harris proved to be a fine clubman and leader throughout his career.
