BIO

William Hamley Healey played several B grade and Association matches in 1915 when he was named in the best players. 

His second and final League game was against South Adelaide when players wore black armbands as a mark of respect and esteem for Phil Robin who had been killed in action at Gallipoli in April 1915.

Healey enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force in February 1916 and in April embarked for overseas. In 1917 he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) for bravery at Armentieres in France.

William Healey was killed in action in France in June 1918
