BIO
The son of Des Hines (1952-1954, 23 games), Bruce Hines joined Norwood from Magill Royals. He began his career at the Parade in 1971, playing for the Thirds. Hines then moved quickly through the grades, so much so that he made his League debut in June of that year.
Very much a utility, Hines was a consistent Reserves performer who was not quite able to gain a permanent spot in the League side.
Hines played across the half forward line in the Reserves' 1972 Grand Final victory over North Adelaide, and the 1974 win against Glenelg. Norwood went back-to-back, winning the 1975 Reserves Grand Final against Sturt, with Hines named at half back.
Bruce Hines transferred to the Athelstone Football Club during the 1976 season.
