Ugandan born, Emmanuel Irra was recruited by Norwood from South Adelaide at the end of the 2019 season.

Speedy and skilful with a penetrating kick, Irra had previously played at Port Adelaide and South Adelaide for a total of 85 league games. 

He had also been drafted by Port Adelaide as an AFL category B pre-selection in 2016, and then delisted in 2018.

His versatility allowed him to play in most positions.

Irra made his senior debut for Norwood in the middle of 2020 and played  13 league games in his first year at The Parade. However he was restricted to 14 reserves games the following year.

In 2022 he decided to join the umpiring ranks of the Adelaide Footy League.
