Adam Jago was recruited by Norwood in 2004 from the North Launceston (Bombers) Football Club where his coach until 2002 had been Norwood legend Garry McIntosh who then returned to The Parade as coach of the Redlegs. 

Jago trained with Collingwood in the 2004 pre-season, hoping to be rookie-listed.

At 193cm, the strong, skilful left-footer appeared to be best suited to centre half-back.

He made his senior debut for Norwood in round 15, 2004. Unfortunately the Redlegs were defeated at home by the Woodville-West Torrens Eagles. That was to be Jago's only league appearance, and he played the remainder of the year in the Reserves (16 games).
