Victorian 1877

A hard-working steady wingman and fine mark recruited from the Victorian club, who played nine games in Norwood’s first season.*

Henry Jury was a hard-working, steady wingman and fine mark recruited from the Victorian club. He played nine games in Norwood’s first season.

Henry was born on 10 May 1855 to Robert Hartup Jury and Eliza Mullett. He was one of eight children, with siblings Eliza, Eva, Fanny, Florence, then the males Francis, George, Henry and Robert.

Henry married Harriet Murray at Trinity Church in 1884 and they had two sons, Valentine Marshall Jury 1885-1950 and Arthur George 1888-1888.  Harriet died at 36 In 1897 and Henry married Jane Squire.


A stockbroker, Henry Jury died on 25 February 1921 at Rose Park and is buried at West Terrace, Adelaide with both wives.
