BIO

Originally from Murray Bridge/Tailem Bend and educated at Sacred Heart College, John Lokan represented the Redlegs at Under 17 and Under 19 level.

He made his senior debut for Norwood against North Melbourne in the 1976 Wills Cup (Night Series). Played at the Parade, the Redlegs were defeated in the Semi-Final : 5.5 to 8.5.

Lokan then made his League debut a couple of weeks later (Round 19), against West Adelaide at Football Park. Despite having played most of his Reserves football at full back, he was selected as a back-pocket, replacing the injured Michael Taylor.

He was selected on a wing in the 1976 Reserves Grand Final - Norwood defeating North Adelaide by 58 points.

In the 1978 Reserves Grand Final he was named in the 22 man squad that defeated  West Adelaide 24.15 to 18.11.

Lokan eventually transferred to Central District, and played another six League games between 1980 and 1981.
