BIO
Prior to joining Norwood, William McDougall played for the Collegetown Football Club in the Adelaide and Suburban Association where his form was good enough to gain selection in the association side that played against the Gawler Association at Gawler on July 5th, 1902.
This brought him to the attention of Norwood and he was invited to train with the club and led to his selection in the side to play against West Torrens on 16th August.
He retained his place the following week against Port Adelaide but the five goal loss brought a dismal season to an end with Norwood finishing fifth, its lowest position in its 25 year history.
Williams’ career from then on was spasmodic. Having played two games in his first season he played just three more over the next two years.
His last game was notable when, on the 27th August Norwood defeated West Adelaide by a stunning 101 points and William scored his one and only goal for Norwood.
