BIO

Bevan Parker was recruited from Whyalla as a highly regarded centreman. Playing for the South Whyalla Football Club, Parker had won the Whyalla Football League's medal as the best and fairest player in the 1957 season.

He made his league debut against arch-rivals Port Adelaide in the 1958 round one, Anzac Day clash on the Adelaide Oval. Parker went on to play 17 games for the season.

A good kick with the ability to read the play, he had an impressive first year, playing mainly across the centre and at half forward.

At the end of the 1958 season, he played against visiting VFL clubs Geelong and Footscray. He was also named in the Norwood squad that won that year's night premiership.

Parker spent most of the next season playing in the Reserves, and only added three games to his league total. He was refused a clearance to Glenelg in 1960, but eventually transferred to the Tigers in 1961, where he played one senior game.
