In 1980, Neil Pearson played in the Norwood Under 19 premiership and made two appearances for the reserves.
Pearson made his league debut in Round 9, 1981. The clever wingman played four league games in his first year of senior football and 15 for the reserves.
The following year he was restricted to 14 games in the reserves.
He had a solid season in 1983 (22 reserves, three league) before turning out for the powerful Edwardstown Football Club in the South Australian Football Association.
