After joining Norwood via Rostrevor College, Anthony "Plugger" Pierri commenced the 1992 season in the Under 19's. He quickly progressed through the grades however, and made his league debut in Round 20 of the same season.
A robust full forward, Pierri was an accurate kick for goal and capable of taking a strong mark. However he struggled to cement a regular spot in the league side. His chances were not helped by the presence of Christopher Prime during his time at the Parade as the selectors found it difficult to fit both forwards in the line-up.
Pierri was a prolific goal-scorer in the Reserves, and led the goal-kicking award on three occasions. He played in the 1995 Reserves Grand Final when Norwood thrashed South Adelaide by 78 points.
Since leaving Norwood the spearhead has played for several clubs including Athelstone in the South Australian Amateur Football League, Barmera-Monash, North Albury in the Ovens and Murray Football League, North Cairns, Nuriootpa in the Barossa Light & Gawler Football Association, Palm Beach-Currumbin, and Wodonga Raiders Football Club.
