In 1945, Allen Lionel Pitt played his only season of league football.
Straight after World War 2, under new playing coach Jack Oatey, Pitt made his league debut against North Adelaide at Norwood in the opening round of the 1945 season. Norwood won the game 15.14 to 10.14.
He was selected as a permanent back pocket in first game, as he was for most of his other senior appearances.
Pitt was named as 19th man in his final game against South Adelaide. Again he was on the winning side, as Norwood easily accounted for South, winning 14.15 to 8.12.
The following year, Pitt played in a pre-season internal trial to aid the building fund of the Norwood sub-branch of the Returned Soldiers League
