BIO

Despite having a laid back and relaxed approach to football, Steven Pitt’s talent was never doubted. The forward was known for his excellent marking skills and aerial work.

His debut game came against West Adelaide in 1992 after initially playing for Norwood in the under 17 side.

Playing in the 1997 Premiership gave Steven more motivation and a stronger desire to win. His determination paid off as he was part of the Advertiser Team of the Year for 1998 and 1999.

Steven played 18 games in the AFL for Collingwood and Melbourne but he returned to play in his final season for Norwood in 2002. He played a total of 138 games and kicked 72 goals over his career.

As a child he played basketball and cricket but he knew that football was the sport for him. When not playing football, Steven worked as a police officer. He managed to fulfil his two passions of being part of the police force and playing football. It did come with some difficulties, however, with the occasional night shift the day before a game.

Steven still has an interest in football, playing for Renmark during the 2012 Riverland Football League season after playing for Tea Tree Gully in the SAAFL.
