BIO

In 1883 R C Randall was recruited by Port Adelaide from Petersham in Sydney and was described as a forward/wingman, quick and a good mark and kick.

Randall moved to Norwood in 1884 and played in the early season games against South Park, South Adelaide and Port Adelaide. He was in the Norwood party that travelled to Melbourne in late May, 1884 where they played three games on the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Randall played against Carlton, Melbourne and was prominent in the match against Geelong, although Norwood were beaten : 2.5 to 3.9.

There were rumours mid-June that he was looking at joining either Carlton or Melbourne or Essendon.

He had already been selected to play for Essendon on 7 June 1884, and represented Carlton the following week in its encounter against Hotham, where he had previously played as a junior.

Randall was back in Adelaide for the Norwood versus Carlton match on 28 June 1884. The sides met on the Kensington Oval. Randall worked hard, but Norwood lost by a goal : 3.11 to 4.11.
