BIO

Jeff Sambell joined Norwood in 1980, after transferring from West Perth. A strong centre half forward/ruckman, he had only played one senior game in the West Australian Football League.

Under new Norwood coach Neil Balme, Sambell made his SANFL  debut in the second half of the 1980 season. Struggling to hold a regular spot in the senior side, he only played 11 games in his two years at the Parade.

In 1982 he was cleared to Morningside, in the Queensland Football League. Capable of playing at both ends of the ground, he was moved to defence in 1983 and was one of the team's most consistent players for the season.
