Cameron Shenton was recruited by Norwood from the Golden Grove Football Club. He had a taste of under 19s football in 2007, and played another 11 games for the Norwood under 19s the following year.
Shenton progressed to the reserves (13 games) in 2009, and appeared five times at under 18 level.
He made his league debut in 2010, playing 10 senior games in his first year.
Shenton was solid in 2011 when he played 17 games for the league team, led the goal-kicking and was a member of the preliminary final team.
Tall and athletic, with an excellent work ethic, he was capable of playing in most positions on the ground.
The utility was rookie-listed by St. Kilda in 2012, and made his AFL debut in 2013. Tied to Sandringham in the VFL, he played for the Zebras when not selected by St. Kilda in the AFL.
In the period 2012-2016 Shenton played 24 AFL games for the Saints and 69 VFL games for Sandringham.
He was delisted at the end of the 2016 season and returned to The Parade.
Shenton played 17 games for the Redlegs in 2017 and was a member of the losing grand final team in 2018.
He was awarded the Woods Medal in 2018 (20 games) and again in 2019 (20 games) for his outstanding leadership and service to the Norwood Football Club.
In 2020 he played 14 games, and the following season added another 20, thus reaching the 100 game milestone.
He decided to retire from the SANFL at the end of the 2021 season and returned to his junior club, Golden Grove where he joined brother Rohan in Division 3 of the Adelaide Footy League.
He went on to lead the club to the 2022 premiership and subsequent promotion to Division 2.
