Robert Smart came through Norwood's juniors, making his League debut late in 1964.
A dashing left-footed centreman/half forward flanker, he was the Thirds' Most Consistent Player in 1962.
He was appointed Vice-Captain in 1963, and was named in the centre for the Thirds state team that played Victoria that season.
In 1964 he won the Reserves Most Improved award.
