BIO
Brad Smith was recruited from the Collingwood Football Club in 2001. A hard-working big man, he had been in the AFL system for several years. Originally drafted by Richmond from Claremont (WAFL) in 1995, Smith spent two seasons playing with the Tigers and was a member of the 1997 Richmond Reserves premiership side before he was traded to Collingwood for the start of the 1998 season.
Despite making several appearances in the Ansett Cup pre-season competition, Smith only managed the one AFL League game. The ruckman then moved to South Australia and joined the Redlegs.
After making his debut in Round 1, his stay at the Parade was short-lived as he was cleared to Glenelg mid-season after an alleged difference of opinion between himself and the club.
Smith went on to play another 32 League games with Glenelg.
