Michael Stingel won the 2021 Tasmanian State League Rookie of the Year award playing for North Launceston in the Tasmanian State League.

He made his VFL debut for North Melbourne in 2022.

In 2023 he joined Norwood and made his SANFL senior debut in the third round game on Anzac Day.

Unfortunately, the Redlegs were easily defeated by North Adelaide in what proved to be Stingel's only senior game before he moved back to North Launceston.

He soon developed into a valuable midfielder however, and played in the 2024 North Launceston premiership.

Stingel was runner up in the 2024 North Launceston best and fairest award.
